The Eagle's Nest: Troop 36's Highest Honor 

Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is the culmination of a Scout's journey in our youth-led program. It is not an award that is simply handed out, and it cannot be earned by parents doing the work. It requires years of dedication, outdoor survival skills, and a profound commitment to servant leadership.

Nationally, only about 4% of all Scouts ever reach this milestone. The young men who make it to the Troop 36 Eagle's Nest have proven that they have the grit, character, and capability to lead others and make a lasting impact on the world around them.

What It Takes to Become an Eagle

To reach Scouting's highest rank, a candidate must:

• Master Skills: Earn a minimum of 21 Merit Badges, including core requirements like First Aid, Citizenship, Environmental Science, and Personal Management.

• Lead the Troop: Serve actively in a youth leadership position (like Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, or Troop Guide) for at least six months as a Life Scout.

• Serve the Community: Plan, develop, and give leadership to a significant service project that benefits a religious institution, school, or community organization here in the Mashpee area.

• Pass the Board: Successfully complete a rigorous Eagle Scout Board of Review.
